REID RUBBER CALL The directors o£ Reid Rubber Mills, Ltd., have decided to make the secono call ol 3/<i a snare on the JUu,000 £1 shares issued in Novetmber, 1946. The call is payable on February 27, and will make the new shares paid to 10/-. PLACER DEVELOPMENT Placer Development, Ltd. (Vancouver), expects to increase its dividend rate soon. For the past six years, the company has paid a dividend of 50 per cent. Tne company should again receive dividends from Bulolo Gold Dredging, Ltd., by the end of 1948, although the former rate of 3 dollars (Canadian) a year should not be expected, said the managing director, Mr. C. A. Banks, at the annual meeting at Vancouver last week. Net profit of Placer Development for the year ended April 30, 1947, was 442,265 dollars (£138,200), against 404,180 dollars for 1945-46. Dividends of 50 per cent, absorbed 392,272 dollars. The profit came solely from dividends of 460,000 dollars received from Pato Consolidated, a subsidiary of the company.
