UNION HAS FIVE WINS AT WELLINGTON REGAHA: ARAMOHO WINS EIGHTS

Crews from the Union Boat Club won five firsts at the Wellington Rowing Association’s annual regatta on the Korokoro course on Saturday. Weather and water conditions were bad, with a strong northerly wind. Because of the strong wind into which the races were rowed, the events were shortened to threequarters of a mile. Aramoho won the eight-oar event from Union by a margin of a length. Union and Petone, the other two starters, collided shortly after the start, the former crew being left at the tail of the field. Union overhauled and passed Petone and hotly challenged Aramoho. The Aramoho crew gave a oolisned exhibition and kept their speed from the start. In the senior singles sculls, P. Abbott (Petone), the present New Zealand champion, and J. Schnieder (Aramoho) left the rest of the field behind. Schneider began to overhaul Abbott about a quarter of a mile from the finish, but Abbott quickened his stroke to maintain his lead. Abbott and Jonassen won the double sculls from Union (C. Brown-Sharpe and N. Crabbe), with Aramoho (J. Schneider and J. Fothergill) third. The following were the results:— Lightweight Maiden Fours: Union (D. Talbot, C. Small, R. Boswell, A.
