FIFTH PARALYSIS CASE IN WANGANUI IS RAETIHI BOY

A two and a-half-year-old boy admitted to the Wanganui Public Hospital on Thursday from the Raetihi district has been now diagnosed as a positive case of infantile paralysis.

This is the fifth case to be admitted to the Wanganui Hospital. Three patients have been discharged and there are now two in the institution.

SIR PETER BUCK, Director of the Bishop Museum, Honolulu, with Professor Leonard Mason, associate Professor of Anthropology, Hawaii University, has been appointed by the United States Navy to investigate whether Bikini Atoll’s displaced natives can be made self-supporting on their new home at Upfiang by improving the island’s economic resources, or whether they should be moved again.
