GORSE FIRE The assistance of the Marton Fire Brigade was required to quell a gorse tire which got out of control in Mill Street on Saturday. A property owner there was burning off gorse, but in the strong westerly breeze the fire got out of control. Measures employed by the brigade were sufficient to extinguish the blaze and no damage resulted.
