BLIZZARD IN EAST U.S.A. AREAS
j Recd. 9.10 p.m. New York, Jan. 24 I A blizzard-like storm swept the ' eastern States today with winds 40 to 50 miles an hour and near zero . temperatures, snow and sleet. In New York flights at La Guardia I airfield were cancelled. Many trains are running up to seven hours late. Storm and gale warnings have been posted along most of the Atlantic coast. With the snowfall already more than four inches a total ;of 14 inches is predicted for New j York city.
