THE LATE MR. W. MILLER
TRIBUTE TO HIS MEMORY BY BOWLING CLUB At the afternoon tea adjournment on Saturday, Mr. D. Orren Hales, president of the Wanganui Bowling Club, made feeling reference to the loss the club had suffered by the passing of a member, Mr. William Miller. Mr. Miller, by his genial and happy personality, had endeared himselt to all who came in contact with him. His willingness to assist the club and Bowling Centre in any way possinle during tournaments and on special occasions had been greatly appreciated by bowlers in the city and district. Members present observed a moment’s silence in tribute to the memory of a popular member. THE FUNERAL. The funeral of the late Mr. Miller took place at Aramoho on Saturday morning, the Rev. A. C. McLean officiating at the graveside. There was a large and representative attendance of citizens, including members of the Garrison Band, Wanganui Bowling Club, St. John’s Working Men’s Club, and the Wanganui Scottish Society. His Worship the Mayor (Hon. W. J. Rogers, M.L.C.), represented the City Council .The pall bearers were Messrs. Orren Hales, A Hall, H. A Gatward, J. Si'-T.pson, and E. J. Crotty.
