JOCKEY INJURED AT TRENTHAM
During the running of the Summer Handicap at Trentham on Saturday Balgowan lost his rider about two furlongs from home. The pilot of the Auckland Cup winner, W. Hooton, broke a collarbone and two ribs. He was admitted to the Hutt Hospital. An inquiry into the incident was opened and adjourned to enable Hooton’s evidence to be taken.
