THREE FAVOURITES WON ON FINAL DAY AT TRENTHAM
Success of three favourites was the feature of Saturday’s racing at Trentham, where the Wellington Racing Chib’s summer meeting was concluded. They were King’s Ransom in the Trentham Stakes, Indian Dawn m the Summer Handicap, and Calm Courage in the Kaitoke Handicap. The open sprint was won by the Waiiganui-owned The Pagan, and a dividend of over a third of a century was returned by Wild Note in the open mile. At the Bay of Plenty meeting at Tauranga, Golden Secret won the Hack Cup and Ballaview the K. S. Williams Memorial.
