"You've got to push them up, and if you can't push them, then throw them!’’ This was the cry of the skips of bowling fours on Saturday, recent rains having dulled the glass-like greens that were available over the Christmas season. Most clubs postponed their games, although Wanganui resumed its club competitions. Veterans' day is tlie next important Centre event. ’is to take place <n Wednesday. Then-Jon. January 28 and 29 Wanganui will be visited by the Canadian (British Columbia) bowlers now in Dunedin for the Dominion tourney. They will be continuing their tour of New Zealand when they arrive in Wanganui on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 27. Wanganui rinks have been selected to play against the visitors. Play on both days will be pn the Wanganui Club greens, not on»S. Jcftia s on one day, as was arranged 1 earlier. Wanganui The seventh round of the Club Fours was played on the Wanganui Club’s green on Saturday. Overnight rain and a threatening overcast sky were no doubt responsible for the green being on the heavy side as well as for the small attendance of players The results of the games played are as follows: Sutcliffe, West, Buchan, Baddeley 34, v. Members are reminded that the annual visit of the Feilding Bowling Club will take place on Thursday next, 22nd inst. Those wishing to take part in either the morning or afternoon games are requested to see that their names are on the list in the pavilion.
