Suit Against English Novelist Dismissed

Jan. 16 federal Judge John Bright today dismissed a plagiarism suit against the English author, Daphne Du Maurier, which alleged that her best selling novel, "Rebecca,” was based partly on works by the late Edwina Levm Macdonald. He found Miss Du Maurier never had access to two works of Mrs Macdonald, "Blind Windows” and "I Planned to Murder My Husband,” and added: There is nothing in Miss Du Maurier s testimony which seemed to me false or improbable, and I accept it.”
