Britain Views The Indian Situation Gravely; May Be War

The British authorities in Pakistan are so gravely concerned that the present Kashmir fighting may develop into a fullscale war between India and Pakistan that the British High Commissioner, Sir Laurence Graf-ftey-Smith has already completed plans for the protection of British subjects in the West Punjab and the North-west Frontier Provinces, says the "Daily Mail’s” Rawalpindi correspondent. Some reports say that should it become necessary they will be evacuated by air, and that R.A.F. planes were standing by in Karachi yesterday for that purpose.
