Buoyant Lamb Market At Waverley Sale

Freeman R. Jackson and Co. conducted its best lamb sale of the season at Waverley yesterday before an excellent attendance of buyers. Prices realised were well ahead of any sale conducted in the territory around Wanganui and Waverley. All classes of lambs sold freely, buyers apparently being influenced by the light rain and the prospect of further rain developing. Keen competition was the order of the day. Woolly b.f. lambs offered on account of H. C. Muldrock made 32s Sd. They were nice well-woolled lambs with a small percentages of primes in them. Shorn wether lambs on account of Douglas McGregor made 26s 6d. and shorn ewe lambs offered for Mr. K. Humphreys made 30s 2d. Woolly m.s. lambs on account of Mr. John Gray made 28s 2d. These were the top sales but several other vendors made sales at prices very close to them. Prices were as follow: Woolly b.f. lambs 28s 3d, 32s 8d; medium, 23s 6d; shorn wetljer lambs, 25s 3d, 26s 3d; average, 21s, 24s 9d; medium to small 17s 6d, 20s; culls 13s 6d, 17s; good shorn ewe lambs to 30s 2d; medium 225, 24s 9d; small, 18s 6d, 21s; m.s. lambs, good, to 28s 2d; culls, 14s, 19s.
