THE YEAR’S HONOURS. At the close of this year of Socialism and dictation from unions, this "Corner” is grudgingly pleased to confer the following honours:— yD.E.B.T.S. Jonathan Citizen: In recognition ot his great battle to make the contents of his pay envelope sufficiently elastic to cover the cost ot living, and to encourage him in the added duty of securing ths future of retiring Members ot Parliament at not less than £8 ■ week. • F.R.S.B.D. (Fellow of the Regal Society of Beer Drinkers). The Hon. Timothy Hogshead, T.A.F, (Triumphant Associate of ths Pint): President of the Wanganui Beer Drinkers Industrial Union of Workers, for his sterling efforts to safeguard Wanganui's national drink from the ravages, and dangers of boycotts. D.G.S.S.C. (Dame of the Grand Society of Suburban Citizens). Anne Adelaide Aramoho: In recognition of her quiet dignity and practice of never doing elsewhere that which can be done in Aramoho—shopping, train catching, letter posting, telephoning, loving, hating, courtship, marriage, family rearing, playing, working, dying and burial. F. (Fellow of the Regal Society of More Production) Gertrude Gloria Gonviile: In reward for cultivation of the yellow lupin, which is not only Gonville's national flower, but is holding the sand from drift and thus saving sections whereon Socialism, when it finds the time and has the inclination, will build houses where lupins bloom today. G. (Grand Ribbon for Accomplished Back Searches). The Wanganui Brancli of the Land and Income-Tax Department: In recognition of the studious, persevering, industrious, calculating, yet gentlemanly manner in which the past has been studied, and historical records brought to tha public benefit and removed from the modesty of remaining forever hidden from the true glory and status to which such items are justly entitled, more especially in this era of taking from those who have to give to those who have not.
