TWO FOURS UNBEATEN IN CHRISTMAS BOWLING TOURNEY

The Wanganui Bowling Association’s annual Christmas tournament was continued on Saturday when three rounds ws.ee played on the four sections. Two greens at Wanganui and two at St. John's were in use and they stood up well to play. With six rounds completed, Tizard in section A and Ciinkard in section B are the only skips who have not suffered a loss. Duncan in Section A, Healey in section B,- and Burns and McKessar in section C have each sustained one loss. The standard of play is high and in section A in particular on Saturday some closely contested matches were seen. The matches were followed by a fair muster of" spectators in spite of a strong wind which at times was troublesome to the players. A further three rounds will be played to-day and to-morrow a start will be made with the post-section finals. The following are the positions of the various skips at the end of the sixth round:— Section A: Tizard 6 wins, Duncan 5, Raine 4, Mursell 4, Richdale 3, Munro 3, Harris 3, Moffatt 3, Cox 2, Thomson 1, Denman 1, Blackie 1.
