BRITAIN AND RUSSIA SIGN SHORT-TERM TRADE AGREEMENT
Recd 7.35 p.m. London, Dec. 27 Britain and Russia have signed a short-term trade agreement in Moscow. The agreement, in the main, provides for Britain to send machinery to Russia in exchange for Russian coarse grain. The agreement also covers the payment of credits Britain granted to Russia during wartime. Negotiations are continuing for a long-term agreement, which it is hoped to sign in May, 1948.
