(P.A.) Wellington, Dec. 26 Situation.—A very deep depression lies south of the South Island and is moving away; a secondary cold front is advancing over New Zealand from the south-west. Forecast to 5 p.m. Saturday: Westerly gales; weather unsettled, with frequent showers. Temperatures, moderate. Outlook: Changeable, but improving.
