RUGBY SEASON TO END TODAY

TWO VISITING TEAMS IN WANGANUI INTER-ISLAND MATCH AT INVERCARGILL. Two Rugby teams are to visit Wanganui today to play engagements in the last-of-the-season matches —one from as far away as Tolaga Bay, the other from Palmerston North. Highlight from a New Zealand point of view will be the inter-island match at Invercargill. First match on Spriggens Park this afternoon will be between Palmerston North Old Boys (Manawatu champions) and Pirates (Wanganui Champions) for the Licensed Victuallers Cup. The later match will he between Tolaga Bay and Kaierau, the visitors repaying a visit to the Bay by Kaierau last season. Star in the Tolaga Bay side is lan James, centre, who played remarkably well when the East Coast beat the touring Otago team this season. The Tolaga Bay team is: Full-back: Nelson. Three-quarters: Brown, I. James, O. James. Five-eighths: Moore, Noarva. Half-back: Marino. Forwards: Hooper, Shelton, B. Smith, Johansen, R. Smith, Ruru, Rangimea, J. Hooper. Reserves: Stubbings and Marrarere (backs), Percy, Campbell and Lincoln (forwards). Following are the island teams: NORTH ISLAND. Full-back: T. R. O'Callaghan (Auckland > Three-quarters: N. P. Cherrington (North Auckland), J. B. Smith (North Auckland), J. McLean (King Country). Five-eighths: F. R. Allen (Auckland), B. Couch (Wairarapa). Half back: V. D. Bevan (Wellington).
