SOCIAL AND PERSONAL. Miss Mary Samson, Wicksteed Street, has returned from a holiday spent in Wellington. Mrs. E. Shute, No. 3 Line, has returned after visiting her mother, Mrs. Carroll, at Eastbourne. Mrs. M. A. Archibald, who has been visiting Auckland, New Plymouth and Napier, has returned to Wanganui. Mrs. A. Harris, president of the Wellington Housewives’ Association, will be a week-end visitor to Wanganui and during her stay will address a meeting of the local branch of the association. Adjutant Dorothy Hawker, who accompanied General and Mrs. Carpenter as private secretary during their tour of New Zealand and who afterwards went to Singapore to carry out. welfare work for the Salvation Army, has returned to New Zealand, and has taken up the position of division secretary at headquarters of the Salvation Army in Christchurch.
