Reed. 10.40 p.m. Canberra, Oct. 2 The Commonwealth Government would not defer the introduction ot the Bill to nationalise the banks until after the threatened elections in Victoria, said the Prime Minister (Mr. Chifltey), in the House of Representatives. "It would be presumpiton on our part to attempt to influence legislation before any State Parliament," he said. "Similarly, I would regard any action by a State Parliament designed to influence the decision by this Parliament as political presumption.”
