MARTON’S EFFORT
(0.C.) Marton, Oct. 2. The first day of issue for health stamps in Marton totalled £204 19s, about £4 in excess of last year. The distributions of first-day envelopes nearly doubled. 1000 being issued for posting. Helping boost first day sales was the ready response of business firms to the Post Office canvass fo' special stamp orders, and on Wednesday afternoon many pounds' worth o. stamps were delivered to businesses.
