ROWING
Wanganui Club Notes With the annual meeting over, there is evidence that the new committee is tackling its work with a will. A programme of working bees has been mapped out to effect repairs and renovations to the club premises and equipment. The first job is set down for next Saturday morning and all members are invited to lend a hand. New members are requested to put in an appearance as soon as possible as it is intended to start coaching on Monday next by which time it is hoped to have the novices paired off and training times set down. There are two trophies set down for competition by the novices so that an early start in training is most desirable. Any intending members whose names have not been handed in are invited to visit the club premises any evening after 5 p.m. or to ring Mr.' Clapham. Entries for the first trophy to be contested close on Tuesday, October 7, and all experienced members are requested to ensure that their names arc on the list. The club is compiling a Roll of Honour and to ensure that it is complete in every way. anyone possessing information which may be of use in this direction would render the club a service by communicating with the secretary or club captain, 'phone 5260.
