AVERAGES FUR PASi SEASON A feature of the Marton Cricket Cluo averages for last season was the success of the left-handers who topped both the batting and bowling analysis. J Openshaw was the most successful batsman scoring 279 runs witn an average of 31 runs per innings. His nearest rival was the club's last righthand bowler, H. Barkes, whose average was 16.2 runs. These two oatsmen were the only ones to score more than 200 runs during the season, although v/. Sanders got within one run oi ms second century. It was the club’s left-hander, O. Williams, who finished the season Vvitn a remarKaole bowling analysis, his b( wicKets costing only six runs apiece. The next best wicket-gatherer was H. Parkes with 37. It is interesting to note that three bowlers, Parkes, A. Fullerton-Smith and D. McLennan ail linisheu up with averages of 10. Details:--
