RADIO FOR WANGANUI PRISON
Recently a few interested friends took in hand the matter of raising funds to purchase a radio for the use of the inmates of the Wanganui Prison—mostly elderly men who due to circumstances spend some years in this institution. Already a sum of some £l2 :.«s ceen subscribed hut as we will need upwards of £4O to purchase an efficient radio I am making an appeal through your paper to any interested fnenus to subscribe as they feel disposed to the writci who will see that all subscriptions are accounted for. J need hardly commend this worthy appeal to any of my fellow citizen* who may be so interested as the installation of a radio in our Wanganui Prison will very much assist those loss fortunate than ourselves to enjoy its benefits. , I feel sure I shall receive the helpful co-operation of those of my fellow citizens who are able to assist.
