GENEROUS GIFT TO THE LEAGUE FOR HARD OF HEARING IN WANGANUI
Appreciating the good work that is being done by the League tor the Hard of Hearing in Wanganui, the directors of McGruers’ (Wanganui) Ltd. yesterday decided to provide the League with rent free accommodation while the present executive is in office. On this decision being communicated to Dr. H. L. Widdowson, president of the League, he said that this represented a very generous and helpful gift to the society, which would help it along very considerably indeed. The work of the society is increasing as month succeeds month, and more specialised equipment will have to be secured in the near future. It would now be possible to put aside some of the income to build up a fund to meet this future costly equipment. “I am sure that not only those who are hard of hearing and receiving benefit from the league's activities will appreciate this generous gift of our landlords, but the public also will feel that its past support has received an endorsement. I would like more people to come forward and help us .n this material way, as the work ot tire league is too valuable to be starved for want of financial aid. I desire, on behalf of the league, to express my thanks publicly for Messrs. McGruer's generosity.”
