HAT-PIN “STABBING” IN PICTURE THEATRE
(P.A.) Invercargill March 14 An unusual accident was reported to have occurred in an Invercargill picture theatre, a woman being stabbed, in the back. As the audience took their seats after the playing of the National Anthem, a woman felt a sharp pain below her shoulder blades, t is stated that a hat, belonging to an elderly woman had been caught between Ihe injured woman and ‘he seAt, and that when she sat down, a long, old-fashioned p n ran into her back. Examintion showed that if the pin had penetrated much further, it would have entered the lung. Blood from the wound ruined the woman’s suit, valued at about 12 .guinea: . She was in bod for two days as the result of the injury.
