NINTH SERIES GF COMPETITION GAMES COMMENCES UNITED IN FINE FETTLE AGAINST WANGANUI (By "Leg Before.") The ninth series of matches in the Wanganui Cricket Association’s first grade competition commenced on Saturday. MARIST v. T. 0.8. Marist in their first innings against Tech. Old Boys, made 198, the top scorers being Williams (60), Keats (46), McConway (30), and Urlich (26). Keats had ten boundary siiots to his credit, in contrast to Williams, who made approximately half his score in singles. When stumps were drawn, Technical Old Boys had lost four wickets tor 51 runs, all four batsmen having been dismissed by McConway. Blick was 31 not out, and N. Ahern 8 not out. Marist had lost one wicket for 16 runs, but the score had mounted to 109 when the second wicket fell. Williams was bowled by Davidson, and when McDougall captured the wicket of Urlich, Marist were four wickets down for 150.
