OBITUARY

MR R. R. P. HARDY Mr. Randolph R. P. Hardy, a well known farmer in lhe Wairarapa, died last week at the age of 59. For some years he was manager of Tuturumuri, th e late Mr. Vivian Riddiford’s station, uni 11 it was sold to the Government in 1920. Later he acquired his own farm near Featherston and retired from an active farming life in 1940. He is survived by his wife, two brothers and three sisters. MR. SIDNEY A. JOHNSON The death occurred suddenly in Wellington recently of ihr. Sidney A. Johnson, well-known in millinery manufacturing and warehousing circles in the North Island. For the past 15 years Mr. Johnson has been a partner in the Gresham Millinery Co. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife and two s ons. DR. J. F. C. MOORE The death has occurred in Greymouth of Dr. J. F. C. Moore, former medical superintendent of the Grey River Hospital. Born in Hokitika in 1895 where he received his early education, Dr. Moore began his medical studies at Otago University in 1913, and graduated M. 8., Ch.B., in 1918. He served on the staff of the Auckland Hospital until 1922, when he was appointed medical superintendent of the Grey River Hospital. In 1934 he took up private practice in Greymouth, which he continued until forced by ill-health to retire three years ago. Dr. Moore leaves a wife and three children. MR. W. A. STRONG Mr. William Aberdare Strong, of Drury, has died, aged 72 years. He was born on the ship Baron Aberdare, which arrived in New Zealand in 1875. After receiving his education in Auckland, Mr. Strong established a saddlery business in Coromandel, but later moved to Drury, where he conducted a similar business. He retired a few years ago to take up poultry and mixed farming. He is survived by his wife and three sons.
