BREACH OF RIGHTHAND RULE ADMITTED BY CAR DRIVER
“As this is a simple breach of the right-hand rule a fine of £2, with costs, will be imposed,’’ said Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., after Kenneth Ramsden Boyd had admitted in the Magistrate’s Court, Wanganui, yesterday, a charge of not giving way to another vehicle at the uncontrolled intersection of Campbell and Plymouth Streets.
Sergeant W. Tumilty said that at 10 a.m. on January 10, last, defendant was driving a car in a south-easterly direction along Campbell Street, but at the intersection with Plymouth Street failed to see a taxi which was approaching on his right and .travelling in the direction of th e river bank. A collision occurred, but nobody was injured.
Tn reply to the magistrate, defendant said his speed was not in excess of 25 miles an hour at the time. Court costs amounted to 13s.
