Native Land Court Fixtures. Motion has been gazetted that ordinary sittings of the Aotea Native Land Court will be held in Wanganui on Monday, May 5f 1947, Monday, August 4, 1947, and Monday, November 24, 1947. Licensing Coicmittce Appointments. Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., has been appointed a member of the Licensiig Committees for the Licensing District of Wanganui and Patea. Also appointed in thd Gazette is Mr. A. Coleman, who has jurisdiction over three Licensing Districts, Waimarino, Rangitikei and Pahiatua. Marching Precision Of 24 bands participating in the quickstep for the Dominion pipe bands championships at Wanganui, two achieved the coveted precision of 120 paces and 60 seconds lor the first 100 yards march. The bands securing this pefiect timing and pacing were: Ruahine (Drum-Major G. Peters, Drummer B. Bell) in the A grade and Patea District K. L. Bond, Drum-Sergeant A. S. Hobbs) in the B grade. Cyclist Injured. Suffering a fractured bone in his leg, the result of falling from the cycle he was riding, Mr. M. Williams, a resident of Greymouth, Mit at present in employment in Vv i?.iganui, was admitted to the hospital last evening. The accident occurred at 5.30 p.m. on Anzac Parade, in the vicinity of Moutoa Gardens. Mr. Williams, who was conveyed to hospital by the Free Ambulance, was reported {£■ be not seriously injured. Band Programmes in Demand All programmes and souvenir pennants lor the pipe band national contests in Wanganui were sold by early Sunday afternoon. There existed an unsatisfied demand, far beyond expectations, for these articles. In all 0000 programmes were printed and 1000 pennants were supplied. Many favourable comments regarding the attractive cover to the programme were voiced.
