FINAL B GRADE TEST TO-NIGHT
To-night's final test selection for the B grade championship is a symphonic poem by an English composer, Drake Rimmer, called “Spirit of Progress.” z This composition i s an original work for brass bands and is ideally suited for contest purposes. The movements are: Introduction leading into a lively allegro, which concludes with a cornet cadenza; an interesting andante follows, leading into a lively allegro enczico and piu mosso which concludes an attractive and colourful composition. The whole work is known musically as "programme music." in which the music itself is atmospheric of the title.
Fourteen bands will be corn pct in.: in a colourful test which does not exceed six or seven minutes.
