COLLIE CLUB’S ANNUAL MEET(0.C.) Ohingaiti, Feb. 25. There was a large attendance at the annual meeting of the Ohingaiti and District Collie Club, and reports presented indicated that the club was in a sound position. A very generous schedule of events was drawn up for the annual trials to be held on April 29 and 30 and May 1. Prior to the commencement of business the chairman referred to the recent death of Mr. James McHardy, who had been an official of the North Island Sheep Dog Trials Association, and a motion of sympathy with the relatives was carried in silence. The report and balance-sheet presented by the secretary (Mr. W. A. Morton) 'were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr. A. E. Russel. l ; president, Mr. L. E. Weston; vicepresidents, Messrs J. Goodwin, F. England; secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. A. Morton; executive. Messrs L. McLean, N. Miller, E. Morton, V. Henson, M. Loughnane, L. Bartlett and G. Green; general committee, all working members. The president expressed the club’s gratitude to the trustees of the Russell Estate and to the manager, Mr. V. Hansen, for the use of the grounds for the trials and for the provision of the necessary sheep. He also thanked members for their generous support. Mr. E. Morton is to be recommended for addition to the list of official judges. Mr. S. Lowry was appointed timekeeper and Messrs F. Fulton and 1.. Hansen clerks of course. Other officials will be appointed later. PERSONAL. Sister B. Brooks, of the nursing staff of the Public Hospital, Wairoa, is the guest of her parents for a fewdays. Mr. Jack Goodwin has motored to Tauranga, from where he will spend 10 days' deep-sea fishing at Mayor Island. W.D.F.U. The monthly meeting of the W.D.F.U. has been postponed to March 4 on account of the provincial meeting at Hunterville to-day. Arrangements will be made at the meeting for the annual dahlia show, to be held toward the end of March.
