CARNIVAL RETURNS DOUBLED
The returns for the 1947 Wanganui February Carnival, which concluded on Cook’s Gardens on Saturday night are estimated to be approximately double those of last year’s similar function. Excluding any money from the “High Jinks Jack Pot,” and also without the inclusion of Saturday night’s gate takings, the figures were In the vicinity of £l7OO. Last year, the Carnival realised just on £lOOO, and so with the inclusion of the above mentioned proceeds, it is expected that that figure will be doubled.
