UNION BANK INSPECTOR IN N.Z. RETIRES TO-DAY
(P.A.) Wellington, Jan. 30. Mr. William Morrison, inspector for New Zealand for the Union Bank of Australia, Ltd., retires to-day. Mr. Morrison joined the Bank in London and came to New Zealand in 1904. He occupied various positions at branches throughout the Dominion before he was appointed to his first managership, at Te Awamutir. He was subsequently manager at Whakatane, Invercargill, Tirnaru, Dunedin and Auckland. He was appointed chief inspector m New Zealand In 1944. To succeed Mr. Morrison in charge of the New Zealand business of the bank, the directors have appointed Mr. Janies Herbert Lowe, who joined the bank in Wellington, and, after filling various pobts, was appointed manager at Martinborough in 1930, subsequently filling similar positions at Waimate and Hamilton until 1941, when he was transferred to Australia. There he occupied several positions before he was appointed inspector for Victoria and Tasmania.
