LATEST RETURN OF RESERVE BANK
Note issue and staling exchange funds of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand at January 22 both showed a slight decrease on the previous week. Note issue was £48,243,641, compared with £48.555,076 on January 15. Sterling exchange was £92,628,070, compared with £92.755.085 on January 15. The return in millions for the week ended January 22, with the weekly averages for 1939 and 1916, is as follows: LIABILITIES.
Proportion of reserve to notes and other demand liabilities 77.053 per cent., compared with an average of 27 per cent, in 1939, and 68.56 per cent in 1946.
