ELDERLY WOMAN FOUND DROWNED IN A CREEK
Whangarei, Jan. 20. Mrs. Elizabeth Ellen McCartney, aged 66, was found drowned in a creek at the back of the Okaihau railwaystation yesterday afternoon. She had been living with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Coles, since the death of her husband 15 months ago. After having afternoon tea she said she was going for a walk. As she did not return a search was made by Coles, who found the body in a creek.
