NO HOUSEHOLD DELIVERIES BECAUSE OF FEW VEHICLES

Invercargill, Nov. 7. ‘1 am satisfied one of me main causes for the absence of household deliveries Is the absence of sufficient light commercial vehicles,” said the Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Holland. at Invercargill to-night. •‘For six years very few vehicles have been imported, with a result that many which havcj, gone off the road have not been replaced. “This question of household deliveries is a burning one,” said Mr. Holland. “It is essentia! that sufficient vehicles should be made available if New Zealand's women are to revert to their prooer sphere, instead of being the nation’s ‘packhorses.' ” Marked scenes of enthusiasm greeted Mr. Holland when he took the platform at the Civic Theatre. Hundreds were unable to gain admission and an overflow meeting was held in an adjoining hall. Mr Holland was frequMtly applauded and a unanimous vore of thanks was earned.
