COMMISSION TO ENQUIRE INTO MAORIS’ CLAIMS FOR SURPLUS LAND
(P.A.) Parliament Bldgs., Oct. 5. The Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, to-day announced the appointment of a Royal Commission to inquire into and report upon the claims preferred by Maoris touching certain lands known as surplus lands of the Crown. The commissioners are Sir Michael Myers, Mr. Hanara T. Reedy, of Ruatoria. and Mr. A. M. Samuel, of Auckland.
