RANDWICK MEETING OPENS TO DAY
The A.J.C. spring meeting will open at Randwick to-day and will be continued on Monday and the following Saturday. Main events to-day are the A J.C. Derby, with a stake of £souu, and the Epsom Handicap, o' £3OOO. The Colin Stephens Stakes is a weight-for-age event over a mile and a-ha)f for a stake of £l5OO. For the juveniles there is the Breeders’ Plate, for colts and geldings only. It is run over five furlongs and the stake is £l3OO. The fillies will have their turn in the Gimcrack Stakes on Monday, when the Duke of Gloucester Metropolitan, of £5OOO, will be run over 13 furlongs.
