(Official News Service) Kure, Oct. 1?

Mail for New Zealanders in Japan despatched from Whenuapai by a R.N.Z.A.F. plane on Tuesday of last week, September 24, reached Japan on Sunday, September 29. That evening men of the R.N.Z.A.F. squadron at Iwakuni received their mail and next day men of the 9th. Brigade and New Zealanders in other 8.C.0.F. units received theirs. By Tuesday all first-class mail had been distributed. This mail established a record, as the journey took less than a week. Despite bad weather and the prevalence of typhoons at this time of the year, the aircraft came through without any delay.
