ARSON ATTEMPT IN HOUSE NEAR WOOL STORE OUTBREAK
Reed. 6.50 p,m Sydney, Oct. 2. Incendiarism is believed to have been the cause of three fires in a room in a terrace of houses about 100 yards from Where the attempt was made to set. fire to the wool store of the Australian Wool Brokers and Produce Company a fortnight ago.
The latest outbreak occurred close to the remains of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency’s store. A sick girl gave an alarm last night when she said a man had entered her room. It was thought at first that she was suffering from hallucinations, as she had taken drugged medicine to ease her pain. Later, however, when she called again, the room was found to be full of flames.
When they were brought under control it was found that three fires had been lit in clothes and curtains. The police arson squad is investigating.
