Bulls Has Much Rain.

According to statistics supplied to the “Chronicle” by Mr. K. W. Dalrymple (Parewanui), August was a particularly wet month, the rainfall being 7.10 in., recorded on 25 days. The average for the past 50 years is 2.78 in., the lowest fall recorded during that period being .93in. in August, 1897. Outstanding light falls for August during the past 25 years, however, were 1.02 in in 1932 and l.lUin. in 1940. The fall of 6.G4in. on 25 days in August, 1939, and 7.53 in. in August, 1909 are the only rainfalls during the past 50 years that compare with last month. Six gales were recorded during August, there was thunder and lightning on Live occasions, snow tell on the ranges on three occasions, and there were three frosts. The rainfall lor the year is now 27.39 in., compared with 29.90 in. during lhe corresponding period last \oar and an average of 25.49 in.
