TRAFFIC OFFENCES
For driving a motor-car without a licence in Plymouth Street on August 3. John Frank Robert Clark was convicted by Mr. J. H. Salmon S.M. in the Wanganui Court yesterday, and ordered to pay 10s costs. Sgt. W. Tumulty said that defendant had been involved in a collision. He had been driving military vehicles for 18 months, but had not obtained a civillian driver’s licence. He was still in the Army. “You suffered the most from the collision, so I will make the fine a nominal one of £l, with 10s costs,” the magistrate told Roland Taylor, aged 17, when he appeared on a charge of committing a breach of the righthand rule. Sgt. Tumulty said that Taylor’s motor-cycle had collided with another motor-cycle at the corner of Polson and Cross Streets, Castlecliff, on July 27. Defendant injured his elbow, but. the other cyclist was not hurt.
