SECOND DRAW IN SUCCESSIVE YEARS
For the second season in succession the tournament has concluded without any one team gaining a clear-cut victory. Last year, when the tourney was played in Wanganui, Collegiate School and Wellington College fought out a thrilling final—an extremely even and hard-fought game ending in a d aw, neither team scon ng any pblnts.
On :he first day’s play last year Collegiate beat Christ’s College by 11 pblnts to 6, and Wellington College defeated Nelson 9-0. That was on Saturday afternoon, August 18, 1945. On the following Monday Christ’s College bfcat Nelson by 3 points to nil, thus gaining for the Nelson team the * wooden spoon’;; and Wellington and Wanganui fought out their finalsharing the honour between them at the finish.
