MOTOR-CYCLE SPORTS TO BE REVIVED
WEEKLY EVENTS WILL BE HELD BY WANGANUI CLUB After having gone into recess in 1941 on account of the large number of members serving with the armed forces, the Wanganui Motor Cycle Club re-started activity recently, and with the membership position improving, has launched an extensive programme of events. Most of the club’s events and tests will be held on Sundays, last week’s event taking th* form of a reliability test for the Carey Cup. M. Lockhart, riding a Norton, was the successful contestant. On Sunday next it is the intention of the club to hold a hid climb on the Matarawa Hill (No. 2 Line), provided permission to use the road can be secured. The following week a scramble will be held at Marangat. Before long Wanganui's motorcycle enthusiasts will bo in full action again. There are hopes in the minds of the officials of the club getting in the not to distant future a dirt track and racing oval in Wanganui. There is. however, nothing definite on the subject at present.
