STATE COMES TO AID OF THE TAITA SCHOOL

(P.A.) Wellington, July 16. State intervention has resulted in a promise ot improved sanitation at Taita School, as from to-morrow, also ot a new school immediately, thus ending a situation which leu to the school committee advising parents to keep their children away from, school, which they did with almost 100 per cent, unanimity.

It is understood, however, that it will probably be a day or so before the pupils return to the class rooms. Messrs. W. M. Jackson, H. An.st ice, and B. Matthews met the Prime Minister (Mr. Fraser) and the Minister of Works (Mr. Semple), and the Minister of Education (Mr. Mason), departmental heads, ana the chairman and secretary of the Wellington Education Board, the outcome being as stated.
