CLASH BETWEEN RUGBY UNION AND RUGBY LEAGUE
(P.A.) Christchurch, July 16. The management committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union to-night decided Io vacate the show grounds on July 27. the date of the match between the British League team and the South Island, after an application from the Canterbury Rugby League for the use of the ground had been considered. The application then wa.s referred to the Canterbury A., and P. Association, which controls the grounds. A motion that the match between the Kiwis and Canterbury on the same dale be played early to avoid clashing with the league gamp, wa.. withdrawn, after considerable discussion,
