OBITUARY
MR. A. MUNRO The death lias occurred at Waipukurau of Mr. Alexander Munro, widely known in pastoral farming circles. Born at Riverina, Victoria, in 1859, lie came to New Zealand at an early age with his parents, who settled in Waimate (Canterbury), and shortly afterwards went to the Wairoa district, purchasing a station which they named “Riverina.” Mr. Munro married Miss Elizabeth Jane MacDonald, nt Kuripapanga. She predeceased him by many years. MR. B. R. S. RUTLEDGE. Well-known as traffic officer for the Devonport Borough Council until his appointment as Main Highways Board inspector for the North Shore area recently, Mr. B. R. S. Rutledge died suddenly on Friday. Mr. Rutledge had been an active, member of the North Shore Rowing Club since 1912, and was also at one time a selector and committee member of Hie Auckland Rowing Association. He also held executive office in the North Shore Swimming Club, was a keen member of the Devonport Rifle Club and a supporter of the North Shore Rugby Football Club.
