PLEA FOR BROADMINDEDNESS
“Endeavour at all times to take a broad view of things, for in that will lie much of your strength,” the patron, Mr. E. W. Merewether, advised members of the Wanganui R.S.A. at their annual meeting last night. He was referring to a remit passed by the Auckland branch requesting the Government to deport all enemy aliens in this country, a remit which he considered was harmful to the standing of the R.S.A.
“We didn’t fight, for that thing, I am sure; we fought for something greater than that narrowness of view,” Mr. Merewether declared.
