Miss E. Muir, Hawera, spent the holiday week-end in Wanganui.

Miss Margaret Bell, Havelock North, is visiting Wanganui. Mrs. V. Grumjnitt, Hawera, is visiting Wanganui. The Misses Sheila and Ngaire Wilson, of Havelock North, are visitors to Wanganui for the Collegiate School festivities.

Miss N. Robertshaw. Wellington, Mrs. David Coghill, Waipukurau, and Mrs. Richard Robertshaw, Wellington, arc the guests of Mrs. M. L. H. Coghill, Grey Street. SuSter Joyce McMillan has been appointed matron at the Otaki Maternity Hospital, in place of Matron Evans, who has retired. Matron E\ans had been in the Palmerston North Hospital Board’s employ 17 years. The board has granted her six months' retiring leave. The death is announced in Wellington of Pamela Anne Kuskie, the only child or Mr. Bernard Kuskie, actingHigh Commissoiner tor Australia in New Zealand, and Mrs. Kuskie. The child, who was two and a-half years old, had been ill for some time. Mr an i Mrs. Kuskie arrived in New Zealand from Australia last November.

Mrs. W. A. Riddell, wife of the High Commissioner for Canada in New Zealand was entertained at a party in Wellington to enable members of the women’s auxiliary of the Navy League to say good-bye to her. Mrs. Riddell has helped energetically in every branch of the auxiliary work, and members expressed regret that she was leaving New Zealand.
