FIRST PRIZE OF £B2O WON Reed. 10 p.m. Melbourne, April 22 The Stawell Gi-t. the richest, professional foot race in the world, was won to-day by V. T. Deane (Victoria). First prize was worth £320. Five semitinals were run to-day before the final, which resulted. V. T. Deane (Victoria. 7yds.), 1; E. J. Cumming (Victoria, 33yds.), 2; G. Baird (Victoria, 65yds », 3. The race was won by a vard, with a yard between second and third. The time for the 130 yards was 11.14-16 sees.
